<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">Connu sous le nom populaire de « boutons de fièvre », l'herpès labial se manifeste par l'apparition d'un bouquet de vésicules, le plus souvent autour des lèvres. Exceptionnellement, les symptômes peuvent se manifester à l'intérieur du nez, sur le bord d'une oreille, sur le menton ou sur une joue. Généralement, l'herpès labial est causé par le virus de l'herpès simplex de type 1 (HSV-1), plus rarement (HSV-2) ce dernier est habituellement associé à l'herpès génital.</span></p>
<p id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44303" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44302" style="color:#000000;"><strong id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44301"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44300" style="font-size: 18pt;">L'acquisition et la transmission</span></strong><br />
L'infection au virus de l'herpès simplex de type 1 est très répandue. Il est souvent acquis durant la petite enfance. Le premier contact provoque souvent une poussée d'herpès très prononcée. Ensuite, le virus demeurera inactif dans les cellules nerveuses de la peau durant toute la vie. Il se réactivera sous forme de poussée d'herpès labial à des intervalles variant de quelques mois à quelques années. Selon la région du globe, de 50 % à 90 % de la population aurait des anticorps contre ce virus. Les anticorps servent à lutter contre l'infection. L'herpès labial peut se transmettre par contact direct avec les vésicules, avec des objets contaminés (ustensiles, serviettes, etc.) ou par la salive d'une personne infectée. La période où les vésicules éclatent est la plus contagieuse.</span></p>
<p id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44319" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44318" style="color:#000000;">Un épisode d'herpès labial commence souvent par un picotement ou une démangeaison sur le bord d'une lèvre, et par un durcissement de la peau à cet endroit. Un jour ou deux plus tard, un ensemble de petites vésicules rouges et douloureuses apparaissent, remplies de liquide, qui finissent par éclater puis former une croûte. Le risque de contagion demeure élevé jusqu'à ce que la cicatrisation soit complétée, mais le virus peut aussi se transmettre par la salive en l'absence de symptômes.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">Le premier épisode d'herpès labial, généralement plus intense, est parfois accompagné de fièvre, de fatigue, de perte d'appétit et de maux de tête.</span></p>
<p id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44346" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44336" style="color:#000000;"><strong id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44335"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44334" style="font-size: 18pt;">Les facteurs d'infections</span></strong></span><br />
<span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44345" style="color:#000000;">Les personnes ayant une déficience immunitaire causée par une infection au virus de l'immunodéficience humaine (VIH), une maladie grave, etc, sont plus sensible à une infection. Divers facteurs peuvent « réveiller » le virus : une élévation de température, à la suite d'une fièvre ou de l'exposition au soleil, des lèvres sèches, les menstruations, l'anxiété, le stress, la fatigue...</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">La durée moyenne de guérison des symptômes est de sept à dix jours, sans traitement. Une personne infectée par le virus de l'herpès simplex en reste toujours porteuse, et les symptômes peuvent réapparaître en tout temps. Néanmoins, certaines mesures permettent d'accélérer la cicatrisation et de réduire la fréquence des accès d'herpès labial.</span></p>

<p id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44383" style="text-align: left;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44382" style="color:#000000;"><strong><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Renforcer le système immunitaire </span></strong><br />
Renforcer le système immunitaire est la première réaction face à une infection. Le contrôle d'une infection au virus de l'herpès repose en grande partie sur une immunité vigoureuse; un système immunitaire fragile ou déficient contribue énormément aux récidives.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">L'<span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Echinacée</strong></span> est employée pour stimuler les défenses de l'organisme et les réactions du système immunitaire en général. La fraction polysaccharidique d'<em>Echinacea purpurea</em> stimule la production des cytokines, de la TNF et de l'interleukine (IL-1) et IL-6, par les macrophages. Cette même fraction possède aussi une action antivirale envers le virus vésiculaire stomatitique (VSV), le virus de l'herpès (HSV 1) et celui de la grippe (Influenza A).</span></p>

Quelques Huiles essentielles exercent une activité antivirale et peuvent aider à soulager les symptômes. Elles s'utilisent en applications locales.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;"><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">L'huile essentielle de Niaouli</span></strong> (Melaleuca quinquenervia) est active sur le virus de l'herpès et sur les papillomavirus. (1) Elle est aussi employée pour ses propriétés bactériostatiques. (2)</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://esprit-nature.over-blog.com/article-24895698.html"><span style="color:#000000;">(en savoir plus sur l'huile essentielle de Niaouli)</span></a><br />
<span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>L'HE de Menthe poivrée</strong></span> (<em>Mentha piperita</em>) est active sur le HVS 1 et 2 ainsi que sur le HSV-1-ACV(res), virus résistant à l'acyclovir, dont il réduit la plaque de 99%. (3)</span></p>
<p id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44450" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44449" style="color:#000000;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44448" style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44447">L'HE de Lavande</strong></span> (<em>Lavandula angustifolia</em>) riche en linalol, exerce un effet inhibiteur sur le virus Herpes simplex sans manifester d'irritation pour les autres cellules. (4)</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;"><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">L'HE de Lemongrass</span></strong> (<em>Cymbopogon citratus</em>) contient près de 80% d'aldéhydes terpéniques aux propriétés antivirales et immunomodulantes.</span></p>
<p id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44466" style="text-align: justify;"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44465" style="color:#000000;"><strong id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44464"><span id="yui_3_5_0_1_1412609844778_44463" style="font-size: 18pt;">Certaines plantes peuvent aussi être utiles.</span></strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">C'est le cas de <strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">la Mélisse</span></strong> (<em>Melissa officinalis</em>) qui outre ses propriétés bactériostatiques et antifongiques, démontrés avec le linalol, le nérol, le citronellol et le géraniol (5), l'extrait aqueux de mélisse est aussi actif contre le virus de l'herpès, de l'influenza A2 et de la vaccine. (6) Cette activité est le fait de l'action conjuguée des acides phénols, des flavonoïdes et de certains composants volatils comme le linalol et le néral. Les résultats d'un essai en double aveugle contre placebo, portant sur 116 sujets, vont dans le même sens et laissent penser que le traitement peut également diminuer la récurrence des crises. (7)</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">On peut aussi appliquer sur la lésion un coton imbibé d'une infusion de mélisse. Infuser de 2 à 3 feuilles séchées de mélisse dans une eau à température ambiante portée jusqu'à frémissement et infusés durant 10 minutes. Laisser refroidir avant d'utiliser et appliquer localement 3 fois par jour.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color:#000000;">Les extraits aqueux et alcoolique de <strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Propolis</span></strong> exercent aussi une action antivirale sur <em>Virus vaccinia</em>, <em>Herpes simplex virus</em>, <em>Vesicular stomatitis virus</em> et sur divers <em>Influenza virus</em>. Cependant, il semble que les extraits alcooliques soient plus actifs. (8)</span></p>
